carl lewis....drug cheat?......say it ain't so joe
According to Yahoo Carl (I'm cleaner than clorox) Lewis was "one of 19 American athletes who failed a drugs test in the run-up to the 1988 Games in Seoul, according to a report.
Lewis was still allowed to take part in the Olympics and inherited the 100m gold medal after Canada's Ben Johnson was stripped of his victory for failing a dope test in the aftermath of the race."
Gees, was anyone clean in the 80's?

Nope, because, until Johnson got caught, they all thought they could get away with it. And they could have if Ben had not overdone it SO obviously that his eyes turned yellow. I mean, FloJo... c'mon....
Not to say that anyone in particular is "clean" (whatever that means in this supplement-rich era) today either.
It appears that Dick Pound and the Canadians are going to have their revenge now that the IOC has spurned him. Along with the ridiculous mess over at the USOC, it just all puts you in that warm fuzzy Olympic spirit, don't it?

Well heck, anyone can fail a drug test. Presumably he was tested again and passed. There's a reason not every test result is released.

IMO, the Olympics is the biggest f-ing con job in sports today. I haven't watched it for years.

It is said he failed three ...and then said it was a herbal remedy he was on. All the 'elite' athelete's I know (and I was involved in amateur sport for awhile) are (and were) almost paranoid about what they put in their mouths.

What, athletes can't have some times like the rest of us? What else would you do with all that bread?
