You guys eat so fancy. I'm eating oatmeal with fresh sliced strawberries. I've gone berzerk for strawberries this season.
{Hey is there any way to make convert a .bmp to a .jpg without losing the color? I wanted to post a .bmp but it's too big and I don't know how to size it.]
I probably should point out that my version of the cold sesame noodles portrayed above will be served in a foil take-out plate without, I'm pretty sure, the decorative scallion stalk.
Those are cold sesame noodles? I love sesame noodles but I don't know where to buy them the way I like. They are either too dry or too peanut buttery--I KNOW I KNOW don't get upset, let me finish--without being seasoned properly. Where do you git yours?
I get them in a little, grimy, hole-in-the-wall place around the corner from my office (Madison between 102nd & 103rd). Though I'm usually not one to make special requests in fine establishments like this, I do ask for less peanut sauce than normal otherwise they overdo it and I end up with a bespattered shirt.
Today my lunch will be leftover penne rigate to which I've added two baked chicken thighs that I cut up into bite sized pieces. The whole deal is sprinkled with dried jalapeno flakes and EVOO. All I have to do is heat it up in the microwave and I'm good to go.........................

Tippy,
Whew. You're not kidding that our guys eat fancy. I'm just finishing the second of two slices of w/w toast with peanut butter, thick enough to notice and appreciate. Careful of the little black specks in your oatmeal. We don't know what they are.

Here's a dinner we had in Zihuatanejo which was prepared for us by my chef pal Heike:
Ceviche made with dorado, shrimp in a spicy sauce, main course was calamari, octopus, grilled dorado, shrimp in the shell and langostinos all cooked with different sauces accompanied by rice pilaf, asparagus, snow peas and broccoli.
Cost: $39 per couple which included a good bottle of Chilean cab.

Cowcod Soup
Type of meal: Soup
Brief History and Where you'll find it: This soup is Jamaican delicacy, therefore it is very rare to find good Cow Cod soup. Your best bet is to head into the Jamaican country-side and find a good domino game. Here you will find men drinking Cow Cod soup to give them the strength and stamina needed to play vigorous sports. Another option is to go to a "real" Jamaican restaurant or road-side stall.
Benefits: This also cures Infertility and Impotence but gives added stamina and endurance for all types of physical activity.
Ingredients: The Cows Cod (this is a big Jamaican secret), bananas, yam, pepper and your optional white rum.
Damn... Faygo redpop!! Made from the ol' family recipe. My all-time favorite as an 8 year-old. Yum.
(Nothing better than food nostalgia -- 'til you actually taste that crap again that is...)
No kidding. My mom used to chunk white bread, dump it into a deep soupbowl, sprinkle sugar on it and then warmed milk, when we were sick in bed as kids. I remembered it being so good that I would feign illness just to have her bring it to me.
Years later, in a bout of depression, I tried it. Holy Moley!!! Is that ever awful stuff. Yuchhh.
