Good? Bad? Indifferent? Is being born always a positive -- even if it is under such circumstances? The mother will be dead early on in the child's life. But, then again, life holds few certainties for anyone. What do you think? As for me, I always side with life . . . since the here and now is all one has. I hold no hope of an afterlife and the like . . .

All joking aside, according to the State Department, female life expectancy in Romania is 74.9 years. Obviously people die any old time, but that seems like something the mother might have taken into consideration. Then again, any 67 year old who can survive a pregnancy probably isn't in an average state of health. More power to her.

Really, though, the picture of this lady in the act of conception is not an image I was dying to have in my head.

Apparently she doesn't mind it being our er..."damn" business...I saw several interviews on the tube this weekend, and she seemed happy to do it. I'm happy for her. Not really making fun of her, per se.
