    Matt Bianco!

I'm a huge fan of Matt Bianco... Basia's probably one of my favorite jazz vocalists of all time =)

Anyway, this group is coming to the US (finally!) and they've got a new cd coming out called Matt's Moods on March 8. This group is definitely unique, I love their single, Ordinary Day. Here's the link if you're interested :http://exodus.interoutemediaservices...8-EC0482D7FBFB

I've actually got tickets to their concert in Baltimore on the 4th... I can't wait! They're going to be touring all over the US... maybe I'll be one of those crazy groupies or something.

Okay. Any fans out there? Has anyone heard of Matt Bianco? What do you think of them?

Is JC turning into Shill-O-Vision? These fevered "touts" that are a first post really smell fishy.

    That's right. I've been lurking.

I *loved* the Matt Bianco album that has "Sneaking Out the Backdoor with a Grin." I'm actually really psyched to find their website and see what they've been up to. Probably will buy the new disc at some point...as a gift for my girlfriend who turned me on to them in the late 80s (we wore the freakin' tape out. It was perfect driving around stoned music).

Anyway, the initial post did NOT sound like a shill to me and so what if it was?

    Thanks for info BlessedBerth10.

BTW: I believe "Matt Bianco" is the name of the band, not any one of the individuals in the band. I used to play with a band named Clark Foster but none of us were named Clark Foster.

"...by the way, which one is Pink?"

Hey, it turns out Matt Bianco *is* a group (from the website - Basia Trzetrzelewska, Mark Reilly and Danny White). Kinda like Joseph Holbrooke.

In your face, Olewnick! Say you're sorry, sucka!

I've rarely, if ever, been so ashamed. Do they sound like Joseph Holbrooke?

    mea maxima culpa.

This will play well in the dance clubs. I visualize mirror balls and strobe lights, sweaty throbbing gyrating dancers on a dance floor so packed you could walk across heads.

Rhythm tracks just aren't my thing but I suspect this is good party music for lots of folks.

    I' enjoyed reading your post.

The sound sample did not exactly bowl me over either. Of course I am a bit to old for discos.

I'm not ignoring you. I tried the clip but my dial-up connection couldn't handle it. Sorry!

Thanks, Uli. I was just wondering if everyone else heard the same thing I did. Knowing Cookie has excellent taste in music, I just don't see this group as even showing up on her radar screen. BWTFDIK.........

Good to know. I thought you were pissed at me. BTW, my connection could handle the download just fine. Unfortunately, I couldn't handle it......

sorry if it sounded like a "shill"... but I honestly don't know what a shill even is... I'll tread the waters more carefully next time..

Anyway... I'm glad you guys have heard of them! None of my friends share my taste in music... so I'm trying to find comrades through a more technological venue...

I gotta admit that I didn't find the best sound sample in the world... the original is much less suitable for a rave... I'll see if I can find the original clip if anybody's interested.

Has anybody seen/going to see Matt Bianco in concert? I can't wait!!! Have you guys got any opinions on seeing them in concert? I really hope its good

then why do you guys reply, honey?

Try counting to 10 before you start hyperventilating... I'm just trying to let people know about a talented group. If you're not interested, don't worry about it.

Boston: *I* frickin' care. Maybe these guys don't qualify as a "jazz" band in your book, but it's a band that I find interesting. The one album I know---yes---used a lot of synths and pop beats, but had some nice jazz-derived harmonies.

So yeah, if YOU'RE not interested, why respond?

Beth: never seen 'em in concert. Am very curious to hear what they're up to. Other Steve: I will PM you at some point. Thanks for the generous offer.
Jimmy: I have issues with my sound card at times too. My old man hasn't gotten around to dealing with it and I've been so busy making music and putting out fires that it hasn't been enough of a priority to harrangue him about.

Matt Bianco is a sentimental interest, but not a pressing one.

    BlessedBeth--

How come you didn't honor us with your presence until February 23? On February 17, you joined at least six other music message boards and posted your very first post on each of those boards--all about Matt Bianco! The lucky boards are at

    All About Jazz
    Jazz Review
    Pulse Music
    Audio Slave
    Contemporary Jazz
Shakefire (that was shortly after midnight, though)

    --I hope I didn't leave any out, but I'll bet I did!

I guess we should feel honored after all, though, because you seem to have posted only once on each of those boards. Even when an AAJ poster responded by muttering something about "shilling," you didn't reply. You should be familiar with the concept by now, though.

When you're spreading the news, you really should get the new album's name right--it's Matt's Mood, not Matt's Moods. BTW, that album was released in Europe in 2004. How did they like it over there?

    Cookie--

Here's the group's official website. Among other things, you'll find a lot more soundclips there, and you'll have a choice of players and connection speed settings. However, if you haven't already tried this, I suggest that you right-click on a soundclip (in IE), then click on Save Target As and download the soundclip to your computer. You can then listen to it offline and may get better results.

It would take merely an amateur Shill Detector. She used the same screenname on every board!

They may need to do that to prove that they shilled diligently and have earned concert tickets or something. Sometimes one can find the site(s) at which they've joined the Shilling Program.
