Post Humphrey Lyttelton - writers & suggestions requested

I am proposing to publish a book about the late trumpeter Humphrey Lyttelton who has died at the age of 86.
Humph as those who knew him affectionately, was a greatly admired figure in
the world of jazz and started playing the trumpet when he had heard his one
time hero Louis Armstrong.
I am looking to publish a book that looks at his whole career not just in
jazz but also as a broadcaster as well, in keeping with his chairmanship of
the famous BBC Radio 4 programme I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue.
The proposed contributors should in the first instance before commission, be
prepared to show me a proposal as to how he or she would write the piece and on commission write no more than 10,000 words as a full chapter. Please
expect this to be edited down to a suitable length, so that the more concise
your piece can be the better.
I am naturally looking for humour and entertainment, and for the chapter to
be written in a style where almost anyone including a gnat, can understand
and read it.
On the financial front, should we agree fees, a payment will be made in
advance, and the remainder held by an agreed third party until both sides
are happy with the final result. At which stage, written permission will be
given for the remainder of those fees to be released directly to your bank
account. I have stated these conditions because of controversial problems I
had with a previous publication. I want to ensure that all contributors are
paid well, and quickly, and without fuss. What has gone on before, therefore
is of no consequence.
Please note that no date has been set for publication. This will largely be
dictated by the run of events, but we would like to see publication as soon
as it is practicable to do so.
Please reply to me by email to eliusbooks@btconnect.com or your can send me a letter at Elius Books Internet Limited, 6A Wellgreen Road, Childwall,
Liverpool, L25 1QP. Please allow up to 14 days for a reply if you write to
me. Telephone 0151 722 6984.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Donald Knox-Richards.

Warning: Before anyone replies to Mr Knox-Richards they should be aware that the BBC consumer affairs programme Watchdog recently exposed him as a fraud merchant who aims to profit from the death of much-loved public figures. He published books on John Peel and John Thaw (the Inspector Morse actor) with indecent haste after their death: neither volume was authorised and caused huge upset to their families.

The programme interviewed writers who had contributed lengthy chapters to Mr Knox-Richard's books for which they had not been paid.

Don't be fooled and read Humph's own books instead. And what an insult to his memory.
