Get the original albums. After hearing the box you will probably want them anyway.

What this guy said, although I would like to get my paws on the couple of extra bits and bobs in there - Live Nubian Sundance, Long version of Eurydice, but not the DJ Logic remix of 125th St. Congress (unless someone can sell me on it)

The box has remastered sound; in that respect, it's better (and a good selection of whole career).

Certainly, m'man, certainly that's true. No excuse not to get all the albums though!

BTW have you hear the new Jarrett, Testament yet?

Here's a dirt cheap way to get five of the original albums:

There are some simply amazing boots out there as well, which are well worth checking out. I think, personally, that they should release a number of official live albums, like's been done with Miles. Each lineup of WR had its own strengths and each period was distinctively different.

Live and Unreleased features several of WR's lineups on a double album--actually, it's one of my favorite WR discs now.

That is a great one Jazzoo! Even their later stuff like 'Where the moon goes' and 'Two lines' sound more beefed and jazzed up. Omar Hakim is Amazing!
I much prefer the version of Teen Town on 8;30, and that of Fast City on Night Passage though.
However the versions of Freezing Fire and Night Passage blow the previously released versions out of the water!

I think one reason why this set is so good is that it was actually produced by Zawinul.
