David Gitin's "Passing Through"
I just got a little gem of a book from Linehan Press, Monterey, California. It's called Passing Through and it's by our own David Gitin. It's jazz and beat, haiku and humor, and will keep drawing you back because, you know, ya wanna be there.
To order and read up on it, go to Linehan Press's website. Let's support David's literary efforts like we support jazz!

David--
Mazel tov on your book release! I see that you'll be coming East. Can you make it to NYC for the Vision fest, so as to "hang" and hear Dennis G. et al.?
David's readings (those that have been scheduled so far):
| • | 2/26/05 (Sat) 7 PM -- Book release reading at Morgan's in Monterey (498 Washington St.)
| | • | 3/21/05 (Mon) 7:30 PM -- Reading at Moe's Books in Berkeley (2476 Telegraph Ave.) with Jack Marshall
| | • | 5/13/05 (Fri) 7 PM -- National Writers Union Reading
| | • | 6/27/05 (Mon) -- Portland, Maine |

A schedule is now up at the Vision fest's site, and it shows Dennis G. Yells at Eels on June 19. That might be news to him; I've posted in his thread and asked him whether he knows what's up. Maybe the schedule is still in flux.

My copy's on its way. I've enjoyed David's previous work, so I'm looking forward to exploring something new from him.

Me too...not many remaining at Amazon at the moment
Maybe I luck out and have David write a few words inside the cover for me.
We've attended more than a few jazz gigs [and a few other events] over the years.

Congratulations on the new one, David! Maybe we can give you yet another reason to visit Van this summer...a reading?

The season (June) does not seem to be a favorite with various series.
On the other hand, I could always crash a gig of yours, do something together, right?

David, you know I'd say yes...but so far nothing booked in NYC for June

I'd love to make this one, David, but I have my regular dance classes to teach that night. I'm looking forward to reading your latest, though!

I can't make it tomorrow. You have anything scheduled for the "left" side of the bay?
Meanwhile, I've put in an order on Amazon. Looks like a great read!

Love to come, but won't be anywhere near Berkeley tomorrow. I'll be in my usual confines of the working world of TV in San Jose.
