SF Bay Area: Solo/Duo for Walnut Creek Restaurant

We are looking for a small act to play at our Downtown Walnut Creek Restaurant. It's the type of place that people come to hang out with friends, have dinner and drinks and talk, so we need acts that fit in with that atmosphere. We are looking for jazz, latin, bossa nova, blues standards or a solo piano player. We are also equipped with a PA system, you just have to bring your own microphone. Shows start at 6:30pm and goes on until 9:30. We pay $125 for the first month and then we will nogotaiate depending on the clientele that you can bring in. Meaning the more people you bring the more you will be payed. You get dinner and 2 drinks for each band member. We need new acts for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Please respond to this email with your phone number, email, description of your music and sound clips if available.

NYC: Bassist for Theatrical Production

2 Cities Productions seeks an upright bass player for the upcoming show Scotch & Poison. This is a rare chance for an up-and-coming player to join a unique production. See the website (http://www.2citiesproductions.com/index.html) for more details about the show.

The performance schedule is as follows:

April 16 through May 11
Saturday/Sunday at 3pm
Monday/Tuesday at 8pm
No performance on April 23/May 1/May 9
The show lasts an hour and twenty minutes

Rehearsals begin ASAP and will take place at my loft right over the Harlem River in the South Bronx. There is a drum kit and bass available for use in rehearsals. I expect no more than 5 rehearsals at my place, then a few during tech week (the week before the show, which you must have free) at the venue, the Frying Pan, a resurrected signal boat moored just north of Chelsea Piers.

There is pay involved, though it will not pay your rent. It will come out to about $300 for the run, which has the option of being extended through the summer if the show is selling well.

Please do not hesitate to contact the musical director, Robert, at the above address with any questions, or at 646-269-1066.

JazzJunkie: I just want to thank you for this thread. It's a great service. I just passed on the Philly info to a friend of mine who just moved there and desperately needs work. I hope perhaps the info will put some food on his table. Thank you for keeping your eyes open for this stuff and then sharing it here.

Ahh Cookie, you are quite welcome. I'm always glad to be of help. Seems to me I've got a list of Philly venues somewhere. Let me look around a bit...
