What kind of question is that? They're both unique, and extremely complementary as players, despite their different approaches. Ervin was definitely the more underrated of the two.

My vote goes to Dolphy. He was one of those who wrote the book.

Ps with Pete's illuminations, now I see that I did not get the question.

Dolphy is one of my alltimers. But I love Booker Erwin too.
