That's a pretty cool bike. The premise of the video seems rather silly though doesn't it? Too bad they didn't really push these two vehicles rather than fool around sliding them and doing wheelies.

I'm not sure if anyone has ever done a study but I think that a well setup race car will almost always have a lower lap time than a similarly setup bike due to the additional traction available to the car. Of course the bike will have all kinds of advantage because of the lower weight and the resulting better acceleration. I imagine the type of track would have a big influence. I know that the great Gilles Villeneuve has the track record at our track in a formula atlantic car with a mind-blowing 59.6 seconds (my fastest lap was around 1:20) and the lap record for a bike is around 1:10 (to give you an idea of how far from being top-level I was). The track that I raced at was very twisty so cornering speed would be extremely important as well as acceleration.

Yeah, that was extremely cool!

When I saw the on-bike shots the tach never seemed to be beyond the mid-range other than on the straights. That along with the wheelies and other shenanigans led me to believe that they were just riding for show rather than go. Maybe I was wrong.

I guess I wasn't watching all that closely and I didn't get any sound on my machine either. I didn't know there were times posted.

That had to be the slowest high-side I've ever seen. Cold tires, high horsepower and inexperience, what a great combination.
