BBC requests Bob Marley interview - 24 years after his death

BBC asked to interview Marley

The BBC asked to interview Bob Marley for a documentary - despite the fact he died in 1981.

They sent the Bob Marley Foundation an email saying it would involve him "spending one or two days with us".

The Beeb wanted the world famous reggae star's contribution for an hour-long show on his hit single No Woman, No Cry.

The email said the story "would only work with some participation from Bob Marley himself".

It added filming was pencilled in for June, July and August, but "our schedule is flexible".

The show, expected to air on BBC2 and BBC Three, follows a December documentary on The Story Of Bohemian Rhapsody, the Queen song.

BBC Three said the blunder was "not an April Fool". It added: "We're very embarrassed."

Hmmn - wonder if they've managed to get ahold of Freddie for the Bohemian Rhapsody episode?

....observing the hypocrites
as they would mingle with the good people we meet.

Can't get the staff these days.

Pity Julian Joseph couldn't have got Bird in for the Jazz Files show

Gives new meaning to the phrase I have often heard uttered at funerals, "He/she's not really dead to me, but has merely attained a different level of consciousness."

Those policemen on the kershaw site are from the classical site!

They'd like to police the Sahara Desert if they could.

BD

Doubt if they'd last long on here.

At least the Beeb 'fessed up. George W. Bush, for example, would have insisted that Marley's death from brain cancer was a hoax, and that he was last seen getting into a saucer in Roswell, New Mexico.

I blame public education.

Me, too, partly, in the US, Goodie.

BBC of course is British. Public school there is a bit different than here.

One thing is clear: The Peter Principle is entirely wrong. People very regularly rise beyond their level of incompetence.

Speaking of which, Bronwyn a few years back was interviewing a college girl about a part time caregiving gig. She asked the girl if she liked to read and if so, what had she been reading. This is her actual response, a direct quote:

"Yeah, I've been reading this book for, like, a year and a half? And it's about like DNA and how it's relative to everything and like it's kinda like Bob Marley's philosophy?"

Next...

Incompetence [as you correctly pointed out] is a Global/family issue, not a public education issue.

Besides...it was a joke.
