Can you touch your toes?
Nope.
And I used to take a lot of unnesscessary shit from the PE double jointed boyz who could.
Like this is some rite of passage of some sort.
Geez.

I can touch my toes, and I can climb five flights without losing my breath. Cross-trainers at the health club have been very very good to me.

Yes, though I sometimes feel a litte twinge in my hamstrings. Not bad for 61½ years, eh?
Wish I could climb five flights of stairs without being winded, like Dr. Dave, though.
Look, at my age, standing erect, taking nourishment, having a few brain cells and some hearing intact is a good thing.

Not bad?!
Shit, if I can still touch my knees at that age I'll feel blessed.
Just kidding, brother(my father has almost 7 full years on you, and he's more nimble than I). Actually, when I was in my 20's I couldn't touch my toes without some major muscle pull-age!!! (too much strength training while ignoring common sense stretching exercises)
Ron, do you practice yoga at all? That is the only reason I can touch my toes now. Hell, I can even put my palms face down on the ground in front of my feet.
Beat THAT, Particia!!!

Patti and I practiced Hatha Yoga for several years when we were younger, but haven't in a while. We've talked about getting back into it for flexibility and many other benefits.
Yeah, I used to be able to place my palms face down on the floor, too. Patti is even more flexible than me from years of dance, exercise, etc.
Thanks for the compliments.

I can also put my palms face down on the ground in front of my feet, but the palms-under-the-soles thing impresses my daughters much more. When a person has as few talents as do I, they bring on their best tricks.
I work with a young man who can lick his own elbow, as well as stretch the skin on his neck and lick that too. He is happy to demonstrate this at the drop of a hat.

I actually asked him and he said that when he heard that licking your own elbow, or the skin on your own neck was impossible, he had to try it and found out that he could. Not much of a line on a resume, but, when you can't dance, I guess it impresses the ladies.

Well it's easier when I sit down. But yes, I can touch my toes the way I suppose you mean, without bending my knees.

I must say that I'm surprised I can still reach my toes though. There was a time when I could put my palms to the floor but I can no longer for which I've got only myself to blame since I'm too lazy doing any real exercises. I've always been rather agile without trying too much, even before I lost a lot of weight, so I guess I get a lot for free. I really should pay more attention to exercises though. Sometimes my body reminds me that I'm in fact getting older...

Not right away. If I keep at it, eventually I relax and stretch enough to get all the way down there to the toes. But it hurts.
I am one of the least supple individuals I know. My personal history has included zero sports and I'm sure this has something to do with it.

I can stand on my palms, too. After three years of yoga. I used to not be able to touch my toes without causing some serious pain.

In my best shape I could touch my toes with my fingertips in that special excercise when you keep your legs and hips immobile while you kind swing wyour upper body. Usually it took my 3 swings at least. Nowadays I can see that maybe in 20 years I will not be able to cut my toe-nails anymore.

No problem.
I'm pretty flexible and move very freely. I find stretching to be one of life's great joys.
