Which Superhero Would You Want To Be?

Why?

I always liked Daredevil and Luke Cage.

Two underdogs made good.

Plastic Man or some other stretchy hero. Because it's just cool.

God, I love Silver Age DC.

When I was a kid, everybody wanted to be Wolverine. We'd have to do rock/paper/scissors to decide. The other kids always asked me to be Hulk, but I didn't want to be Hulk - I wanted to be Silver Surfer or Iron Man. Hell, I'd even go for Captain America (though in retrospect, that was kinda lame). I used to think that guy with the bow from the Avengers was cool, but after a while he seemed kinda gay (to pc police: I was 9), so I went back to trying to be Wolverine, though I pretty much ended up being Hulk. Looking back, I shoulda gone for Ghost Rider.

Every once in a while you'd get a kid who wanted to be a DC comic superhero and we'd laugh and laugh and laugh. We'd be "hey, little girl, I think the Superfriends are on". In the world of early 80's/late 70's children's pop culture, there was nothing less hipster than DC (Except Green Lantern - he's cool). Marvel was pretty much it on a kinda mainstream level. If you were into Dark Horse or Epic, you were badass hipster.

When I was a kid I was very into X-men (pre-Wolverine). I loved Prof. X. and Beast, especially. I also had subs to Spiderman and Fantastic Four for three or four years. But there was one DC guy I also liked for some reason. Hawkman.

Superman, not so much.

Yeah, DC baby! You're not supposed to like them--too powerful. Like the Yankees and the US of A.

Ugh, D.C. comics are soooo lame. Like the bottom of a barrel of brine.

To answer the question, Spiderman. But, if I was willing to let the tortured-by-the-moral-compass thing slide, maybe Thor or Doctor Strange. The mythological stuff is cool.

Aw, man.... I dug the Flash. Was that why nobody wanted to play with me?
