Need a copy of Morton Feldman's All Piano
Try as I might, I can't locate a distributor of Morton Feldman's All Piano recording on London Hall ( John Tilbury, piano).
I went to the usual sites that I suspected might have a copy, to no avail.
Whom am I missing?
(I just read Mr. Olewnick's superlative review at AMG, in which he references (c. 1999?) that this recording was a limited press item as well.
Anyone who knows my musical predilections (as well as a few of my personal pecadilos ), understands that this is a major lacuna in my collection.
Help.
Grateful,
Jesse

we sold a whole bunch of these, but they were expensive to get then, and would be superexpensive now with the increasing worthlessness of the dollar, so we haven't tried to restock, even though this is one of my favorite releases ever. DMG lists it as "STOCK", not sure what that means exactly, but you could give them a call (212-473-0043). once they don't have it (and don't listen to them if they say they can get it, because they can't, their distributor, Forced Exposure, is out of it), you should order from sound 323 (sound323.com), they list it as in stock for 45 euros. tell Mr. Wastell I sent you his way...

Jon:
You da man, I thought you might have the tip, but wanted to provide a thread for comments as well (about the recording, mundane anecdotes concerning finding a damn copy, etc.).
If I go the Wastell route, I'll mention your name.

Nothing could have prepared me for this praise, David, as we never swap posts!
Thank you.
(So you're not holding [ All Piano])?
Best

a little more info: LondonHALL is (was?) a Vienna-based label, distributed by Extraplatte. if you go to extraplatte.at, Allpiano is listed there for 62 euros plus shipping (around $80 plus shipping). I was going to try to find a contact there and see what their wholesale prices are for restocking, but that price makes me extremely hesitant.

Understandably. Holy shit, if there's a single copy on the planet, I may go 80 bones, still...
Sound 323 shows a copy for 49.99 euros, as you said, but until I "check out", I don't know if there's really a copy there...
What's Wastell's connection to sound323? Is that his biz?
A cursory glance evinced consumer lust, I better stay clear of this one (once I score Feldman/Tilbury).
Thanks again, Jon. I wish you had the artifact your damn self.

yes, sound 323 is run by Mark Wastell, with help from Brian Marley, easily my favorite record store in London, and Erstwhile's UK "distributor" (in quotes because they're a store, not a distributor).

Rats!!!
I've launched like 3 threads, & every time, they die on the vine, as I don't know how to assign them to their proper place.
Lois, or someone savvy, can this be moved to whatever thread deals with such inquiries?
Thanks for your help!

I hope this helps Jesse. Scroll down to the one you're after.
It's about the same price as the one you mentioned above but they say they have it in stock.

Jesse: They have a lot of Erstwhile disks so maybe Jon knows how good they are. It seems like a decent site but I've never bought anything from them as the Aussie dollar loses out big time against the Euro. However, buying music from the US is getting better by the day.

if you can't find it, I'd be happy to burn it, charge you accordingly, and send all profits to an as yet unnamed Cuban entity, everyone really needs this recording
