Don Cherry - Mu or El Corazon -- which is better?

El Corazon is on my desert island list, but I know many prefer the earlier collaboration between Don Cherry and Ed Blackwell, Mu (1&2). Which duet album do you like better?

i suspect that 'mu' is possibly more important since 'mu' fires hot off the heels of 'eternal rhythm', but i never could maintain my attention to 'mu' and i found love with 'el corazon.

There's a raw excitement to Mu that the later album doesn't have. But El Corazon has a irresistibly calm beauty to it. And the music reflects Cherry's interest in world music to a greater degree, which I love.

I like both albums, but I return to El Corazon frequently, and I don't listen to Mu all that much. I especially enjoy the version of Bemsha Swing on El Corazon, but I love the whole thing. It's the first LP I digitized onto CD-R when I got my CD-Recorder.

I love Mu to pieces, and I can't believe I haven't hear of El Corazon (nor indeed, that it's seemingly even better than Mu - although not according to the poll results), so thanks belatedly for the heads up guys!

"Moo!" he said, than disappeared! Stuff for yet another block buster novel!

I'm with him anyways, and I tell you what: I'd join any army anytime that gets me marching to "Sun of the east"

Mu I say
