On May 6, jazz legend Nancy Wilson will come out of retirement and kick off an incredible weekend of unparalleled musical performances all benefiting the young patients at Children's National Medical Center. The Seventh Annual Lexus Presents Jazzmatazz has grown and now boasts three days of the world's top performers.
On Friday, May 7, guests will enjoy the world-renowned jazz sounds of headliners Nancy Wilson and Diane Schuur, as well as performances by Jonathan Butler, Ramsey Lewis, Marcus Johnson, Poncho Sanchez, Larry Harlow and the Latin Legends and others. D.C.'s prestigious Ronald Reagan Building is transformed into a premiere live music venue with intimate jazz clubs, open bar, and buffet for the black-tie gala.
On Saturday, May 8, Grammy-winner Michael Franks will grace the stage for two much-anticipated shows at Northern Virginia's Birchmere music hall. The music extravaganza closes on Mother's Day with a special brunch and performance by popular smooth jazz/R&B vocalist Will Downing celebrating moms and children alike at D.C.'s premiere Hilton Washington hotel.
Proceeds from Lexus presents Jazzmatazz will benefit the Kids Care Fund at Children's. The fund responds to critical aspects of the hospital's mission that are vital to pediatric care. Over the past six years, Jazzmatazz has raised more than $7 million, touching the lives of thousands of our young patients," said Development Vice President John Wm. Thomas. "Year after year, some of music's most legendary performers vie to be a part of this special event. This year is going to be very special."
