KoSA Celebrates its Tenth Anniversary...

Vermont, May 6, 2005 - The KoSA International Percussion Workshops and
Festival proudly celebrates its tenth anniversary.
This year’s workshops will be held July 25 to July 31st, 2005 at
Castleton State College, in Castleton, Vermont.

KoSA:10 faculty will include: Memo Acevedo (Tito Puente), Jim Chapin
(Celebrated Author),
Eriko Daimo(Classical Marimba artist), Mario DeCiutiis(KATelectronics),
Kenwood Dennard (Sting),
Liberty DeVitto(Billy Joel), La Drummeria(5 top drummers from Italy),
Cassio Duarte (Brazilian master percussionist), Dom Famularo (Int’l
Clinician), Richie Flores (McCoy Tyner),
Richie “Gajate” Garcia (Phil Collins), Jeff Hamilton (Diana Krall),
Rick Van Horn (Modern Drummer), Arnie Lang (NY Philharmonic),
Russ Lawton (Trey Anastasio), Marco Lienhard (Japanese Taiko),
ArthurLipner (Jazz Vibes specialist),
Aldo Mazza (Répercussion, KoSAFounder/Director), Russ Miller (Ray
Charles), Allan Molnar (Music Technology guru),
Arthur Press (Boston Symphony), Répercussion (Int’l Percussion
Ensemble), Walfredo Reyes, Jr. (Steve Winwood),
Lou Robinson (Didgeridoo Master), Tyler Stewart (Barenaked Ladies),
Glen Velez (Paul Winter Consort),
Michael Wimberly & Mozambique Drum & Dance Ensemble, and Yuko Yoshikawa
(Classical Marimba artist), Also appearing
will be KoSA’s famed rhythm section: Oscar Stagnaro(Paquito D’Rivera)
and Rafael Alcala (Berklee). This year we are also
anticipating some surprise special guests!

The KoSA International Percussion Workshops are hands-on, intensive
percussion camps. The course of study includes an incredibly diverse
range of styles and techniques.

From rock, jazz, Latin, funk, and classical percussion, to Brazilian,
Arabic and Indian hand drumming.
Afro-Carribean rhythms, Japanese Taiko drumming, solo marimba, jazz
vibraphone, timpani, snare drum,
percussion ensemble, and special educator sessions will also be
offered, as well as a substantial
presentation of percussion and music technology. Participants enjoy
learning in an intimate setting.
The KoSA experience features small daily classes, playing with the KoSA
rhythm section in residence,
participating in masterclasses, and performing in recitals. Every
evening participants are treated
to exciting concerts in the KoSA Festival, which is open to the general
public.

The event culminates with a Grand Finale Faculty Concert which is
recorded live for future CD release.
