I strongly support Hermann's tip. I was at that concert, which was a hit, and I have heard most of the recorded music too. As it happens, I ordered the CD yesterday, together with the new Zoom trio CD (Niggli, Wogram, Schaufelberger). One of my favourite bands at the moment.

I have that trio-CD too and like it a lot.
All Wogram is a must for me. Next thursday I will go to Mannheim, to her him play with Aki Takse's Waller-projekt, men that will be a 'Fest' !After that concert they will go to Hamburg and record it.

In Willisau last autumn they did a W.C. Handy project, which was fun. But what I remember best are Rudi Mahall's hilarious announcements. Is he with the Fats Waller project as well?

Sure Rudi will be on board, and besides Nils there are Eugens Chadbourne and Paul Lovens not to forget Aki. Her last Loft soloconcert was 'himmlisch' ( heavenly ? ).

Actually, just got these & found them both kinda middling; the trio disc is in particular a bit dull. I liked the over-the-top liner notes, but the trio disc for instance sounds pretty washed-out compared to (say) the Anderson/Doran/Bennink trio or the Tiny Bell Trio. It's OK, but what's the fuss about? I'd much rather see/hear Wogram playing with his own band (Root 70 is great stuff).

I haven't heard this/these, cuz I'm lazy, but here's what I wrote from JazzSaalfelden 2002:
Nils Wogram: trombone
Philipp Schaufelberger: guitar
Lucas Niggli: drums, percussion
The highlight of the first night, for sure. Great open improv interplay over very nice, workable tunes (presumably by Niggli). All played great, and I will seek out a recording.
And indeed, they've been on my to-buy list, but I just haven't gotten around to making that particular order.
