SMALL's IS CLOSING
Dear friends, JL music fans,
As some of you may already know, Smalls, after 9 years of serving the “underground” music community, will unfortunately be closing at the end of the month. This is due in part to new and stricter laws governing New York City which are literally strangling the smaller establishments.
So this Monday, May 26, will be the Jason Lindner Big Band’s last performance at the club that literally put us on the map.
Starting in June however, the Jason Lindner Big Band will continue their Monday night engagements at another club around the corner: Fat Cat (75 Christopher St, west of 7th Ave).
On another note, my newer group, the electric sextet which is unnamed at present, will continue to be at the same club Fat Cat every Thursday.
The shows at Fat Cat begin at 10:30 pm and proceed until 1:00 am.
