Dubya: Don't destroy life in order to save it

Bush yesterday on why he'd oppose any Congressional effort to improve stem-cell research:

Quote:
"I made it very clear to the Congress that the use of federal money, taxpayers' money to promote science which destroys life in order to save life is - I'm against that. And therefore, if the bill does that, I will veto it.''
Gee, W., what about all of that Iraqi "collateral damage?" What about using science to build more powerful nuclear bombs? F#%*ing idiot. And an amoral one at that.

As Hullabaloo observed, "It looks to me as if the best way to convince Bush and his followers to support stem cell research is to propose that we only use Arab embryos."

I came to the conclusion last year that Shrub is truly insane. His anti-science rants only confirm it.

Wrong to use abortion remnants for science but A-OK to violently destroy man, woman, and child with military offensives...disgraceful hypocrisy.

I might suggest that President Bush browse the section in his local library, which deals with the experiments that were done during WW2 by German researchers, using incarcerated Jewish and other subjects. A photograph which haunts me still is one in which a subject, apparently not under anesthetic, was being used to study the structure of the leg. His leg had been flayed and the muscle and tendon structure were totally exposed for study by the researchers. And that was only one of the studies, the results of some which are part of medicine now.
So, if non-Americans are used in the experiments, the results may be more palatable to those who value life, any life, as the Administration claims to do.
This, as they snuff out life by the bushel as I type this. Clearing a house by tossing in a grenade is obviously the most humane way to ascertain that no insurgents survive.
