Ann Hampton Callaway Sings to Benefit NYC's Classic Stage Co. June 28

Ann Hampton Callaway, a prized interpreter of the American popular songbook, will sing a June 28 benefit for Classic Stage Company, the Off-Broadway company devoted to voices of (sometimes) centuries ago.
The evening will be at Café Deville, 103 Third Avenue at 13th Street. "Guests will enjoy a private pre-show event at Kiehl's from 7-8 PM, and Moet & Chandon champagne and dessert at Café Deville from 8-8:30 PM. Singer-songwriter Callaway's performance will begin at 8:30 PM.
On April 25, Callaway received two MAC Awards for her newest CD, "Slow," as Best Recording of the Year, and for "My Answered Prayer," which was named Song of the Year. Callaway was the first person granted permission by Cole Porter's estate to write music for a previously unrecorded Porter lyric, "I Gaze In Your Eyes." In 2000, she earned a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for Swing!
CSC executive director Jessica R. Jenen first worked with Callaway in 2000 during Swing!

"It's truly an honor to present her in this very intimate evening, and Brian Kulick, CSC's artistic director, and I are tremendously grateful that she has agreed to help us in our fundraising efforts. It's going to be one of those incredibly special evenings not to be missed."
Tickets to Ann Hampton Callaway at Café Deville are $125, which includes private pre-show event at Kiehl's, Moet & Chandon champagne and dessert at Cafe Deville from 8-8:30 PM, and the performance at 8:30 PM.
