Question Boston Globe Jazz Festival 2005 kaput?

Anybody know if we're having one this year??? I know they didn't hold it last year because of the Democratic National Convention... I also recall big debates 4 or 5 years ago about the entire event... (it's free... no other corporate sponsors... switched to calling it the Jazz and Blues festival... etc...)

SteveBop... Anyone... Is this gonna happen??? Or is this great city going to be without a major jazz festival again????

I may have to satisfy myself by only going to Newport and Montreal....

Maybe they can give you more info at the phone number or someone from the Boston area can help. I'm in WI and that's all the information I have. Websites haven't helped much yet.

I hope for good news about The Boston Globe Jazz Festival.

Meanwhile - check The Burlington Discover Jazz Festival out for next year. You'll be happy you did.

Considering that the Globe didn't include it in any of their summer jazz festival listings, I think it is safe to assume that they've quietly pulled the plug for good.

Angry this stinks

It seems extremely apparent that there is no Boston Globe Jazz Festival this year... In addition to it being kind of embarrassing that this world-class city no longer has a large scale jazz festival... the way the Globe went about it stinks...

First they said they weren't having it last year since they were putting thier "resources" into the Democratic National Convention... and they said the Globe Jazz & Blues Festival would be back in 2005... Okay fine.... So where is it you ask???

Well not only are not going to do it... they don't even release a press statement about why... They seemed to be too giddy spending more money on stupid redesigns of the paper (see the new "SideKick" section.... ) which essentially promotes events... (One of which WON'T be a major jazz festival in Boston...)

pathetic... anybody got any more inside info on this?
