I dig her stuff. She's sortof a performance artist/photographer. All in all, I don't think photography is "art" but hers approaches artistic with the wigs, costumes, etc.

Never enjoyed her. The same way I have an antipathy toward performers who adopt a whole array of characters for their act (Tracey Ullman, etc.). That arch, masquerading sense grates at me.

A one-trick pony. And a dull one.

I think her work is really smart and really funny.
There's a lot of implicit commentary in her pictures about how we perceive glamour and beauty and the way celebrity and fashion photos have created certain kinds familiar of expectations in viewers. And then she plays with those notions. I could go on, but there's been a lot of interesting writing on her work.

People who haven't accepted photography as art haven't spent enough time trying to understand the medium and its history.
