Favorite album covers

Rabih Abou-Khalil -- Tarab (the net doesn't do justice to these consistently beautifully engraved covers from Enja for the great oudist)

I like almost all of Bill Frisell's album covers. Some feature classic photos or classic art (see "Quartet), while others features some really cool surreal art.

Randy Weston has some great album covers as well.

We're ignoring you, Walter. Put together a little incentive package for us, we might reconsider.

Jesse described this one as a "Watch out for the brown acid " cover:

What did you think?

I also like the already mentioned Arthur Blythe cover (Lenox Ave Breakdown).

Blue Note (in their classic period) and ECM are certainly the labels with the most consistent cover designs. And I, for one, really like the hatOlogy cover art.

favorite album cover threads:

--90% of the submissions are incomprehensible and make me want to ask the poster how he/she could consider this a memorable or striking or indelible album cover...not to single you out Lazarus, I love your posts here, but those Carla Bley covers in the alley version of the thread? wtf?

--that Gastr Del Sol cover (definitely worthy)

--Orient (okay I guess, but soooo '73)

--Ohio Players are ALWAYS neglected

Found this one tracking down Peter's "All My Friends Are Dead" album.
