After waiting 5 years for a kidney, I am happy to report that Jon Lucien had a kidney transplant last Thursday. I asked Jon if I could post this information, and he agreed -- not only to spread the word about how he's doing, but to emphasize how important being on a donor organ list is. Given what's going on with Michael Brecker and Jon Lucien - WAITING 5 YEARS - please spread the message to be tested for bone marrow and blood donors, and check off the box on your driver's license to be an organ donor.

oh, my goodness, i am SO happy to hear this news and that's he's ok!!!!! can we have an address to send cards to? i'm thanking "all the powers that be" for this wonderful info!

Isn't this wonderful news! As far as cards, I think if you write at the above email and ask for the snail mail address would probably be the best thing!

Excellent news, but I know from experience with a friend of mine that getting the transplant is half the battle; keeping it and him healthy and functioning requires constant attention and discipline. I wish him the best.
