if you get ahold of today's entertainment section of the l.a. times, it lists almost all the jazz happenings for the next week, but off the top of my head:
kenny burrell is at catalina's with tom ranier, sherman ferguson and herman riley;
a tribute to harold land in leimert park on sunday (12N-7pm) with sandy graham, the gerald wilson big band, justo almario's group, harold land jr.'s group and many other excellent musicians;
red holloway is playing tonight, i think, at one of the hotels at the airport at 6pm - maybe it's the westin.
i'll post more when my memory gets refreshed. enjoy whatever you do.

Is there an online source for jazz events in LA? Whenever I come down there, I can never figure out what's going on in advance besides the Jazz Bakery and Catalina's. Thanks.

you can use the kkjz website which has a monthly calendar which is now taking the place of their jazz hotline event calendar.

Sure. The thing is, I'm in and out of there pretty fast and it's usually for a special event like a holiday or like the graduation last May. I'm going to try to get down again before the end of the year so I'll let you know.
