getting laid in the seventies

I was pulling up some kitchen tiles the other day and had to break them up as they were stuck down so hard. They must have had some very strong industrial adhesives used on them when they were geting laid in the seventies.........

Oh you thought!! ....shame on you

Well, Henry, I for one was wondering the very same thing as you are about some ceramic tiles on my daughter's counters in an older house she and her husband bought. If you find out how tiles were laid in the seventies and how to disengage those pesky things, do let us know.

I was in Arizona last July, and was *very* surprised to find out that I was arriving just in time for the rainy season. Not only was it 100+ in the shade (in Pheonix, anyway) but it was every bit as humid as we are now in the northeast. And I was there to go hiking. Oy. At least it made for great night time lightning shows in the high desert.

Witnessed a wind storm in Pheonix also, which was very interesting. What I would imagine it would be like if you stood behind an airliner while it revs the jets.

Before I get too far OT, I recently tiled my bathroom floor with peel-n-stick. Wouldn't be too hard to remove if I had to.

OK, OK. It's hotter in Arizona. Congrats, you sun-blasted bastards. You win the sweaty nutsack prize.

I'm not impressed by consistently hot or cold weather, because the people who live in it are prepared for it and know what to expect every day and every night. What impresses me are people who wake up not knowing whether it's going to be shorts and t-shirt weather outside or ice scraper and winter coat weather.

In other words, people like me.

Nice photo, sonic1. I love Saguaro and Cholla cacti. I miss those vistas, too.

We haven't spent much time in Arizona, but have really enjoyed the high deserts of New Mexico. It's time to revisit the great Southwest.

I'll be in an interesting high desert setting next month, doing some fly fishing with my son in the Sierras of California, near Bishop.

I did get laid about seventy times in the seventies. I'm still around and kicking. What's your point, Aussie?

Hot and dry ( and windy all the time) is nothing compared to hot and humid.

I love the Sonora desert but somehow the Mojave does nothing for me. The Friedlander show at MOMA has some fabulous pics of the Sonora desert.
