Who's Still Missing?

I'm trying to think of those from JC who have, as near as I can tell, yet to make the migration:

(thelil)
shrugs
Gordon
Darryl Thomas
Anthony Basich
Rene
Josh Heisler
Laurie Tvedt

Who else and what's these guys' excuse?

Omar. That bastard owes me money.

I was gonna say I haven't seen Stuck, but I noticed he did register - just hasn't posted. Same goes for HL.

Where's Jiveman? Robert Castle?

No jesus marian joseph so far; I'm sure he was rendered autistic by Michael Moore's "speech" last night. He'll probably be back with a "Deconstructing the Miss USA Speech" thread, which would be on a comparable intellectual plane.

Gordon was on vacation; I'm sure he'll join up shortly.

bobetterblues, who had been pretty scarce anyway.

Pete, as of tonight my link to the old board no longer works. Does yours? So I'm finding it hard to envision how old posters who went in through Speakeasy rather than the main JC site will find the new board now.

I guess they're off the old server. I can't imagine there's anyone who doesn't know to try jazzcorner.com. I only used the jazzjukebox as a back door at work, where jazzcorner was a blocked site, and occasionally when the main JC site was down.

And if anyone can't find this, they don't deserve to. Screw 'em.

The "old" board is likely "history" as we knew it and loved it. Lois has folks working on archiving the threads/posts for read-only access.

I almost never entered JC through the home page, virtually always through Speakeasy. There should be no problem with someone finding this "new" site by using a bookmark or other means to enter the "old" site. They're automatically sent here. It's happened several times to me today while trying to cut and paste some things.

Posters I haven't seen yet:

Chris DuPre
Bruce Massey - seldom posts
Davide - ditto in recent days
jesusmarionjoseph (Lois now allows for longer names!)
Erik Lund/Johannes - needs a computer
Jasontis - any word?
Franki Yakimoto
Fish
Clint Hopson
AJ

I'm certain that I'm leaving out many friends here, unwittingly.

Some of those named, like the vivacious Jazzy Mary, seem to have registered but not to have posted yet. I wonder if some folks are still running into problems with the registration procedure, and are still finding it impossible to post even though they've registered?

It really should say somewhere here that the first time you enter the board after after you've registered you have to enter through the link given in the acknowledgement e-mail JC sends you -- then everything should be hunky-dory.

I finally got on today and went through the registration.

I still can't figure how to post pictures.

Several of us have been enjoying the carryings on of the banned bad boy at the other site. Some of the threads have been hilarious.

Hey, Erik, are we invited to your wedding? Set a date yet?

Welcome, oh scarce one.

Ever heard Allison Miller? She might make you consider burning your stick bag as she did me ten days ago when I heard her in person, then met her. She's in Virginia Mayhew's quartet, 27 years old, and a "killer". I'm listening to their version (in 7/4) of Rhythm-A-Ning from Virginia's new album, Phantoms right now. Amazing.

I don't know if you saw my post a couple of weeks ago when I mentioned how much I loved my new Remo Renaissance heads. They're sweet! Check 'em out if you get a chance. Warm, punchy, natural-sounding.

GoodSpeak, here are a few reasons that you *shouldn't* do lots of spaces here on the new board:

1. They stopped being funny, or effective in any way, a long, long time ago.

2. THEY COST LOIS MONEY. Did you know that? (They use and waste bandwidth.)

3. New board, new day, new Speakster!
