"Sister, when I've raised hell you'll know it!"
What's the rumpus?
Is there a finer gangster flick than Miller's Crossing? Such beauties:
Tom
Leo gets your sister, what're you selling me?
Bernie
C'mon Tom, its not like that at all. Wasn't
my idea. She'll sleep with anyone, you know
that. She's even tried to teach me a thing or
two about bed artistry. Can you believe that--my
own sister! Some crackpot idea about saving me
from my friends. . .
Bernie laughs pleasantly.
She's a sick twist all right. I guess some
guys like that.
Tom
She speaks highly of you.
Bernie shrugs.
Bernie
Yeah, well, you stick by your family.

Ya know, I'm not gonna let this one go... Finally just came out on DVD...
Look in your heart!
Share some fave Miller's Crossing lines that were funny or in any way meaningful to you? What did you think of the flick? Was it too stylized or arty? What did you think about the casting, soundtrack?

One of my favourite films - just got the DVD and have yet to watch it.
Tom Reagan: I am awake.
Barkeep: Your eyes are shut.
Tom Reagan: Who you gonna believe?
________________________________________________________________
Tom Reagan: All in all not a bad guy - if looks, brains and personality don't count.
Verna: You better hope they don't.

Great choices mjb! You're the first person to post, interestingly a Canadian :-) ... I also noticed patricia -another sweet, peaceful northerner- mentioned MC in a post.
Oh Canada, our home and cerebral, moody land. What does this all mean...?
"Twist a pig's ear, watch him squeal..."
Just kidding. I have a feeling this film must've been discussed prior to my pungent arrival.

Ah yes. "Miller's Crossing" along with "Blood Simple", among my favourites.
We Canadians are peaceful, but we did give birth to Ken Finkleman, the creater of "The Newsroom" and it's sequel. Humour-wise, nothing is sacred.

You know Bernie's chiseling you because he's a
chiseler. And you know he's a chiseler because
he's chiseling you.
