Any chance of an Aussie Hang?

Hey you Aussie Guys on this board. Any chance of us meeting up someday. I get to Melb and Sydney regularly. Any takers?

Man, I'd love to come to an Aussie hang, if I can only find a cheap flight to Sydney.

Hang at the Lord Nelson in the Rocks, The Pacific or Coogee Beach Bar and Grill in Coogee, check out the Glebe flee market, catch some jazz at The Basement, etc etc. Stroll through the Royal Botanic Gardens. Catch some surf up at Palm Beach.

Ahhhh, good times.

Australia is high on the list of place I've always wanted to visit, but never been. Sydney would be great. Some day....

Now we're getting somewhere. Henry, you can help us find a nice room for two, I'm sure. With a roomy shower, preferably.

Yes Henry, I'm about 4 hours out of Sydney and would like to catch up. I also want to go to the What Is Music? Festival and finally meet my AT buddy Mr Schaumann.

Henry and others: I'm ALWAYS up for music and dinner and whatever with fellow jazz boarders who find themselves in Melbourne. It's only happened once so far, but I live in hope.

Send me a PM if you're headed this way.

I also have a standing open invite for sleeping space (not necessarily bed space - bring a sleeping bag) in my gratis motel room for the Wanagatta festival. This year it's October 28-31, and as well as beaucoup Australian music, the international guests include Oliver Lake (with Baikida Carroll & Pheeroan ak Laff), Tomasz Stanko, EST,

When I was a kid I was obsessed with Australia from this romantic drama I watched called "A Town Like Alice." It had Bryan Brown and I endlessly fantasized about being on the lam with Mr. Brown in the face of our Japanese captors. A lot of it takes place in Malaysia but the good surprises take place in Australia. How much is a flight to Australia anyway, it's gotta be what 2-3K.

You are all more than welcome if you get to Brisbane. Not much of a Jazz scene but its a good town these days with some lovely places hereabouts to visit.

If you ever think about getting down here send me an EM - I'd love to show you around

I'm going to be in Sydney area next summer (wife has to go to a conference, so I'm cashing in my Air Canada points and tagging along). Hopefully we'll get to other parts of the country too, but it depends on her schedule and our $$.

I'll probably be there for the middle 2 weeks in July. When is the festival you're mentioning (What is Music?)?

Last year it was in February Dan, but no clue if that's set in stone. I'll do some digging after work.
