Hmmm, makes me realize that it's been probably 10 years since I've heard this. I'll see if I can find it and play it and see what's what. I would say I remember it as being good but to be honest I can't recollect it at all. I guess the new memories are pushing the old ones out. Where am I?
Listening:
Stralu on Creative Sources
.....which isn't blah-ing me one bit. Really fine disc.....

letchhausen, may I suggest this as an appropriate subject for your avatar? At least until you've broken in your "baby"?

Well here's my amp, though I have the gold face and KT88 tubes instead of the 6550's shown:
Of course its a little hot for summer listening which I why I listen to solid state during the summertime.....
I should also point out that "my baby" (the Esoteric CD player) is just on loan. I haven't made any hard and fast decisions...yet.

Tim Berne's Hard Cell - Feign
My previous post about this in NRYLFT was a little erroneous.
This is NOT a live CD.
It was recorded live to 2 tracks but is definitely a studio CD.
But it's ALL ACOUSTIC Hard Cell.
New material, typical Berne stuff, angular lines, powerful grooves, but shorter numbers than on the previous Shell Game. Half the tracks score between 2 and 5 minutes, while the others stand at approx. 8. In this, it resembles the Science Friction studio album, stating the tunes that is/will be developped live.
In-your-face mix and a better than ever Rainey my ears couldn't stop to stick to on first listen.
Back to it, now.

So glad you like it, Jesse. His stuff is very special to me. When we drove up to Vermont last winter, I played Katt Hernandez his piece for violin and piano. She was struck by its almost unrelenting bleakness. His life was soooo sad. I think people who like Schoenberg--especially from around the Jacobs Ladder period--should definitely give him a listen.
Also nice to hear you think you'll take to Fragments, Jaka. Certainly one of my ten faves for the year...

I've been coveting this set, Laz, but the $100 price tag has kept me from pulling the trigger. It really is worth it, right?

I'm not Lazarus, but it is! Great set, with better sound than the awful sounding U.K. reissues. You'd better grab it while it's still available, it's a limited edition.

Yes Root, if you really like Doug Sahm it´s absolutely worth it. It´s strictly limited so I guess you have to decide pretty soon.
It´s a very nice hardbound book and the cd´s are remastered with excellent sound. Recommended!!

I love DeGruy's playing which takes the Lenny Breau thing to a whole new level. Wish his music was consistantly serious. His take on the Debussy piece (Clare de Lune) is absolutely beautiful.
Lately I've also been listening a lot to the "Guitar Artistry of Alirio Diaz" which is fantastic.
I need to get more classical guitar CDs.

Disc 3, the solo musics, alot of 'blues' pitch-bending here.
This is a fantastic set that is encroaching on my non-existent Top 10 list.
