Mabuhay! Congratulations on your publication. That's great! I'll try to keep an eye out for it.
How is the jazz scene in Manilla? Who are the up and comers?
Have you done any Bobby Enriques transcriptions?
I've been to Manilla a couple of times but since my wife generally doesn't like jazz it's kind of hard to check any good music out. Lots of karaoke bars though...

Good work! Those transcriptions were one of my favorite parts of Downbeat when I used to pretend to play music. Nice to see your name in a big mag, I'm sure. And yeah, definitely don't hear much about the scene in the Philippines around here, so fill us in!

Thank you guys. Jazz scene here is picking up. New comers are The Affinity and Miska Adams. You can visit Candid Records. Speaking of the late Bobby Enriquez, this guy is a gifted one. I will be having trouble on how to transcribe his karate chops notation. But seriously speaking my jazz piano teacher is a best friend of Bobby his name is Daden Capucion. I think he's 73 years old and still playing. I have some manuscript charts of Bobby from Daden. Lets see if I can transcribe his solo piano works. Cheers.

You did, Lyndon.
As a drummer, I would have been even happier if you'd transcribed Steve Houghton's parts, however.

Lyndon does me a great honor by transcribing my solo for Downbeat. I've completely forgotten what I played; I haven't listened to the Freddie stuff since we did it. I'll definitely look out for the issue. It'll be fun to revisit those days when I was lucky enough to play with a genius like Freddie.

Hey Baise Moix, so lets consider you're really good, have you ever contribute to DownBeat. Tsk,tsk, tsk, your biography contracts to your message. But your location and occupation suite you best. Location: close to the edge of what....... hell? Occupation: freelancer of what....... drug dealing? People like you are people who hates good vibes, hates happiness. Why disturb this thread with your braggadocio? I just want to share what I have with others, not with you.

Baise, did you *see* the DB article? It's a*transcription* of Billy Childs' solo--no small feat!
Lyndon, why are you stooping to Baise's level?

Sorry guys, sorry jazzy mary. Maybe Im to tired from work. But still Baise's biography contradicts to his message. It must be......... biography: Born to hate, born to brag. Sorry I should not stoop to his level(low life).

Baise's name, which aside from the misspelled "moi" means "fuck me," should give a clue to his/her reasons for being on the board. The various attempts at wry humor on his/her part are pretty lame, as you will readily see on other threads. Best to ignore a person whose attempts at wit fall so flat, and who clearly has nothing to say about music.
Bye-ya

Congrats Lyndon - that's awesome. As everyone has suggested ignore Baise Moix. We don't tolerate trolls here.
