DO some freakin' research, boyz.
READ my posts.
You have absolutely no clue what you are professing.
None.

Alright Goodz, I'm afraid I have to put my foot down.
You've had your say, and we've spoken about this privately.
Enough!
Is someone calls you a neo-con, it comes from the same empty headed mindset that has some people calling me a neo-con/right wing shill/Bush lover/war lover/fanatical right winger, etc...............
Those who actually take the time to read our posts know for a fact that you are about as far from being a neo-con as one could possibly get, and that I'm anything but a lockstepping right winger.
I said it to you privately, and I'll say it here again.
Let it go.
Turn around, walk away, and don't look back.
On to bigger and better discussions.

Fair enough.
But it still burns my ass how people here who profess to be Liberals are so goddamed narrow minded.
Divergent thought is NOT a crime, people.

I do not profess to be a liberal in the sense the term is commonly used in the U.S.A.
Dolan, I would never call you a neo-con. Neo-fascist, maybe.

Without question. Tim, you're my main man. Ever since the days of the Outcast Shack you and I have had some incredibly bizarre and sympathetic online relationship(diametric opposition can sometimes yield to the unthinkable). So allow me to say that it likely just caught a lot of people off guard when you tabled such a non-left wing thought.
It showed many that you actually ARE capable of thinking outside of the usual Bush-must-die box. It confounded the shit out of them.
So what?
You are still a true representitive of the left. Just not the looney left.
That's actually a good thing.
Pat yourself on the back and move on..............

Hm.
Do you have any tolerance for divergent views? Can you say you celebrate diversity or do you work to squash it out?
Seems to me that if I was a conservative, I wouldn't be able to see both sides of the issue.
Time to give the Goodster a break, don't you think?
How 'bout it, eh?

Scott,
I never seen a consistent nor coherent message from you. I'm not sure what you believe in though I do know you disagree with damn near everyone.
I'd call you a provocateur.

neo-con, neo-liberal, socialst, libetarian. confused.
There is sometimes a confusion of terms between the UK and USA. Economists in the UK call low taxers neo-liberals.
This is an interesting website.
http://www.politicalcompass.org/
I am more libetarian than I thought! I always think I am a bit of a Stalinist compared with a lot of the arts community, I come from an "old labour", trades union background. I scored -6 on the economic scale and -4.56 on the social.

No at all. In fact I don't consider myself a Stalinist at all, but mildly libertarian. it's just that some people I have come across profess to be pretty hardline socialist and extremley libertarian, I think when you get to the extremes there must be a conflict between the two.

Can't one be economically socialist & socially libertarian without too much conflict?

Hopefully!
I am according to that website. Where do you draw the line between being socially and economically libertarian? Wouldn't a hardline socialist society have to impinge on certain civil liberties to make socialism viable? I'm talking extremes here.

One can also be a socialist of the hardcore variety who understands the grotesque deviation that is stalinism while at the same time realizing the dead end that is anarchism/left libertarianism/autonomism*. But I don't like to talk politics much, so I'll leave it at that.
*no offense to my friend Nat. It's not like I think it's more of a dead end than American liberalism or anything.

I disagree, James.
Scott and I rarely agree politically. He and I go back a few years and I can tell you the man's passion is equaled only by his coherent thought.
To Everyone,
I pine for the day when we can just plain disagree without all the f**king insult on this BBS.
It really is embarrassing sometimes.

You are the board's biggest embarrassment. Why do you want to stay in a place that -- by a landslide -- elected you the most obnoxious poster in the house?

I just think there should be more threads with "wha-???" in the title.
"Cecil Taylor...wha-???"
