Harry James - In a Relaxed Mood

Most of the jazz on the forum is of a later style, it seems, however "In a Relaxed Mood" whould appeal to any lover of jazz and classic ballads.

This was kind of an atypical session fof Harry James as it featured him with a septet-
James - trumpet
Corky Corcharan - tenor
Ray Sims - trombone
Buddy Rich, (I think) (maybe Jackie Mills) - drums
and the rest of the rhythm section.

All recorded for MGM records in the early 1960s in real stereo. Fine tracks, very subtle and mellow. Beasutiful work by everyone with James on open horn on most of the tracks. The sides are now controlled by Polygram, I presume.

I have no idea if his LP had made it to CD yet. This period of James' work is fairly well ignored despite of numerous fine big band sessions of a rather non-commercial nature.
