URL policy?

Can the URL policy be clarified here? Do we really need to avoid posting working URLs to artist and label sites? These are some of the most basic and common music URLs that are referenced here, and there are still lots of people that deliberately obfuscate them, presumably because they're circumventing some version of a no-URL rule. Meanwhile, it'd be a lot easier if people felt free to post reasonable URLs without tiptoeing around an imagined "rule".

Lois, can you explicitly state whether musician and label sites are allowed or disallowed?

And if the former, I request that everyone stop obfuscating the URLs, so clicking through will be easy.

Good question Vince

On the old board only urls to other music sites were allowed in links. On this newer, gentler board, I think it's important to post links to artist and record sites esp for clarification purposes. I do object to people posting links to other boards or asking if other boards are down. They don't allow talk about jazzcorner so the feeling is mutual. I also don't find it necessary for people to put their urls after every post.

Reasonable?
