NEW YORK, October 10, 2005 – The Jazz Journalists Association (JJA) continues the Fall season of Jazz Matters with NEW MEDIA: NEW PARADIGM OR NOVELTY? on Wednesday, October 19, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., at the New School for Jazz Studies and Contemporary Music, 55 West 13th Street, 5th Floor, in Manhattan.
New Media, a discussion and dialogue on the affects on musicians and journalists of blogs, podcasting, ArtistShare, and other recent digitally-related developments, is free and open to the general public.
Howard Mandel will serve as moderator and panelists include DD Jackson (DownBeat columnist, podcaster, pianist-composer, ArtistShare/Justin Time contractee); Tad Hendrickson (College Music Journal, Amazon, Request, Jazziz, Time Out); Brian Camelio, ArtistShare; and Lois Gilbert, JazzCorner.com.
