Favorite JC threads 2005
It's that time of year boys & girls...any section of JC
It's always fun, as some really good ones resurface after being mentioned here.
For starters the recent Kenny Rogers [Alley] thread is hilarious.
I also like Pete's 'Dream Band' thread in Speakout.
PLEASE NOTE:
*UN_Favorites* also may be included...threads that you dislike a lot.
On Speakout a recent 'UN' is definitely the "I know this might not be popular..."

Favorite thread: "Need A Little Help" from this past January. Gave me help when I needed it the most, for which I am very thankful.
Least favorite threads: All the "Wherefore art thou Scott Dolan?" threads that we've seen over and over again.

Dennis Gonzalez & Robin Eubanks get the perennial thread continuance and superb musician status!

My all time personal favorites are What are You Eating and the Chile thread.
Those guys who daily post two or three times on the sports threads need to get a life.

i must cast my vote for the very real and poignant threads initiated by Jazzooo (Doug Robinson) about the illness and ultimate passing of one of his gorgeous dogs. it was obviously very sad but also sweet, beautiful, sensitive and encompassed lots of other human traits and emotions as well. it was also a superb example of JC posters supporting each other through difficult times.

Yeah, because reading a whole thread devoted to what other people are eating is just endlessly fascinating.

One of my favorites is the one that we talked about our cats.
The other one is the nitwit encounters of the everyday kind. I have gotten a good chuckle out of that.

Yeah JM, that is one of my favorite threads. Your first post in that thread was very entertaining to read. Thank you for posting that.
I also like the What are you listening to right now? thread very much but I think that the What other music are you listening to? has destroyed much of the fun. Why does that thread exist? Will someone please explain that to me?
I have never read a sport thread. They must be extremely boring.

Get your selections in...tick,tock
I'd have to add the recent series of "Wouldn't JC be better off without..." somewhere in the mix

Robin's and Dennis's and Ellery's and Mark's threads. No competition. Robin's thread is very likely the longest and longest-running jazz thread on the net.
Second tier: all of the eai threads.

I'm new here, but the thread that cracked me up completely was a relatively recent one about "Kind Of Blue". Absolutely hilarious. I sent it around to some other muso mates and they thought it was in serious earnest! Made it even funnier.

Any thread where I was schooled on Hurricane preparedness and/or aftermath protocol by the many experts here at JC.

I did like the WAYLT threads but the splintering of those threads cost too much time for me to keep up so I have dropped out of all those threads. I poke around for fun here and there but only really keep track of the eai thread on a consistent basis.......
and yes the idea that sports is worth that much blather is mystifying to me....

Well since we are on a jazz bbs I would expect that discussion of music would be at least a modicum of a reason of why we're here.
Of course the idea that you are worth that much blather is utterly understandable.....and amusing.........

My point being that unless you are really into something, i.e. Jazz, sports, etc., you would be mystified be others ability to ramble on and on about them.

My point being that I can understand people blathering on about sports or TV or what have you. What mystifies me is people on a jazz bbs blathering on about sports......though I'm willing to cop to misguided idealism as the raison that led me astray.....

Rollhead's "Tool Music" thread is a gem of parody.
