The world owes me a living
But it won't pay up! I have to go earn a damn living all by myself!! It's so cruel.
Does anyone else have this problem?

I've been wondering about my fame and fortune. Shouldn't I have them by now?

I've been thinking the same thing for a long time now, Tom. That the world owes you a living. I couldn't agree more.

Tom: I think that living in France so long has actually made you part French.
You will become completely French when you realize that it is not the world that owes you a living, only the French government.

Where do we send our checks, Tom? Last thing we need is for American immigrants to join in the rioting.

I'd go out and riot about this but it's just too much effort.
John, I would be very happy to let the French government act on behalf of "the world" to provide me with a living. But not just any living, obviously. A good living. I mean, it's only fair.

You seem to want to just sit back and take handouts, Tom. That's an attitude that I find deeply ingrained in myself, so of course I find its presence absolutely appalling in others. Now, if you want to actually work to better yourself, I got two words for you: "car sales." That or "fire retardent paint." The hooliganism may be winding down, but there hundreds of cars burning every night in your neck of the woods. That smells like opportunity.

Better myself? I'm not sure it's possible. Take that however you will.

I will take that as the self-satisfied blatherings of a suburban scumling. Of the American variety, you understand, and not Sarkozy's la racaille. So from my very heart, I salute you.

You think you've got it rough, let me tell you: I'm 55 years old and still trying to get on VH1.

Well, I was stung by the distain exhibited by those who thought me selfish when I said that if I won a several million dollar lottery, that I would not give it away to the less fortunate.
Why? The world owes me a living and I'm still waiting for the world to pay up.
