Rent, your thoughts.

did anyone happen to see both versions of rent? Theres the new dvd version that was released recently, and the original cast recording version. I am debating which version to get, even though most of my friends say the original soundtrack is 10x better, but im thinking they may be biased in their opinions. Anyways if anyone seen one or both versions id love to hear what you thought of them.

I saw Rent at a theatre in Boston. I thought it was pretty good. Some of the tunes I liked a lot more than others. Some of my gay friends raved like mad over it, but I prefer La Boheme.

If my daughter [who LOVES Rent] were commenting on the two, she'd definitely cast a vote for the original cast who she saw in London, and another version without. Original for certain by absentee ballot!

Just a little freely improvised poetry. If the Coen brothers wish to rent it, I'll entertain their offer.
