they pay me and I *am* grateful

This isn’t real – but it is – and they are paying me – plus what I went through and me not working here on practically anywhere with one click of the mouse to the right destination

But it is pretty much unbelievable

It’s like the customers or potential customers are simply hindrances to whatever operation is going on – and here I think it has most to do with the boiler room or fixing the old air conditioners or water coolers or whatever has been sent back by the customer.

Almost an alternate reality

And having not worked in a full time job for a long time – I am grateful – but this is damn strange….

Example – without the company name:

And JOHN SMITH is actually a guy with a Korean last name – who speaks what seems to be a reasonable English…


now start at the bottom and tell me if I am not insane - I think I am actually becoming more sane - plus keep in mind that this has been copied to people like my bosses boss. Nobody really seesm to give two shits - except that a lotta guys stay late - don't know what they do - but they are here for a zillion hours a day - doing somehting to do with the boiler room, I think

Possible explanation

Perhaps I'm missing something which is obvious to other readers (like a joke), but if not, here's a likely explanation for the strange-looking communciations. When other language characters are employed, if the OS of your computer isn't aligned with that language, you'll see a lot of ?????? ?? ?? intermixed with English.

I suspect that Korean, Chinese or another foreign langage OS is being used by one or more persons within your company, Steven. This became apparent to me when our youngest son lived/worked in Japan for quite some time and I would visit Japanese web sites and see very similar gibberish.

yes - I have explained to the man I work with that we need the mesage for the customer in English - and they/he/someone need to translate it.

Thye seem to forget that HSN doesn't read Korean or Chinese

an exmaple of the customer being an inconvenience

I have found that others take this for granted and often don't even ask the research people for solutions as they are not able to provide them - you have to know that somehow about 33% of the company's business is here in the States - and they supposedly hired me as one part in an affort to get more business here.

They obviously don't take much very seriously in regards to a request by the second leader shopping network in the country.

It is funny but also pretty damn sad.
