Men We Love

Quote:
Gregory Peck was a man's man, the kind of man you read about in the bible. He had the charisma of Frank Sinatra and the rugged manliness of a lumber jack. Even his last name is manly: "Peck," the phonetic equivalence of a slang term for a man's chest; it's a simple, almost primitive sound like a grunt, straight and to the point without fancy extra syllables and gratuitous punctuation. His default expression is a determined scowl, like he's prepared to introduce you to the business end of his shoe if you look at him wrong.

Classic style.

Giving goofy's a good name since 1986.

(Joel Tudor and Rob Machado, but I guess we're not giving out names today, huh.)

Surfer, do you know Flea??? My daughter, Liz, thinks he's the best bass player around! A dear friend of mine knows him and had dinner w/ him! I was soooo jealous! He promised me he would ask Flea for tickets the next time they tour. Do you know when the RHCP are going on tour again?

On another note, those pics. of the surfers are beautiful. Gorgeous form & line. I think you could be a ballet fan too--and I a surfer fan (but I don't think I could surf or do ballet for that matter).

LOL, different Flea, Jazzy Mary.

Daryl "Flea" Virotsko is a two-time winner of the Men Who Surf Mountains contest at Mavericks in Half Moon Bay.

Flea flying.

Here's one of him making it.

On the cliff in 05.

One of the most fearless surfers I've ever seen. Probably the best big wave surfer SC has produced.

Funny, surfer! In that first pic. It looks like it could be Michael Balzary! I thought he lived in L.A., though.

Oh, he's dyed it all kinds of way. You can't see the hair in the first pic.
