John Fogerty

Nice interview of John Fogarty by Ashley Kahn on NPR.

Fogarty tells the story about how he was fucked by Fantasy records for decades, until it was recently acquired by Concord. Now, he is in the midst of a comeback.

Jeff,
Can't understand why no one is contributing to this thread. I remember seeing John Fogarty in concert many years ago. He was the opening act for someone more "popular" (maybe Bob Dylan?), but his performance was so much better than the headliner. His vocals are incredible and he puts 110% in all he does.

Wes,

Thanks.

I like Fogerty, but I was especially intrigued with his story about Fantasy records.

As he said in this interview on NPR, he paid the bills for the company but was "treated like a trash liner" for 35 years, until Concord bought the label.

It's an ape you're talking to...

Fogerty's amazing, but sadly, just like people like Santana, The Stones, The Beatles, he's been over-exposed. It's not possible for me to listen to CCR tracks with "fresh ears". Heard it too many damn times and I didn't even live in North America until the early 80's.

Cem:

I think Fogarty was pretty disgusted by that too. He mentioned all the advertisements that used his music, over which he had no control.
