Vince,
Did you get to hear his work with Lotte Anker ICTUS quartet?
It's top-notch free improv, published on a rather obscure danish label, ILKmusic, and highly recommended (at least by me... ) for all players but Ducret's playing is outstanding there.

10 USD for an mp3 download really sounds cheap to you? As much as I love Berne and Screwgun in general, I think those prices are absolutely excessivel, even those priced at 5.99$. That's four dollars less than a normal, brand new cd from the label minus shipping. I guess it depends on the value you give to a bunch of files in your computer, or maybe I'm a fetishist, don't know.

Yes, maybe I was carried away by this euro/dollar current advantage on our side, plus records are really expensive around here.
Imagine you had to pay $23 for a Tzadik release?
Guess it's all about perspective.
I personally don't care about Tim Berne's catalog re-releases. I AM a fetishist who's had them for a long time in their original cardboard format, but it seemed interesting to mention their availability, even if not in the coolest format.

I used to pay 24 euros for the Tzadik releases years ago. Fortunately, that's no longer the case, but it's really over the top, unless you live somewhere in the Netherlands, Germany, etc, where I found the prices to be more reasonable and the distribution much more decent. For instance, Fnac stores in Barcelona offer the Masada studio releases on DIW for the nice price of 30 euros, and that includes Vol. IV, which is an EP. The same happens with certain Impulse! releases that they import directly from Japan for no apparent reason (i.e Albert Ayler's "Love Cry").
Anyway, it will be hard for me to get used to a non-physical format if that ever happens. I'm too rooted on vinyl/cds to have mp3 files in high esteem.
