Here are the texts from some of the Liberal attack ads that didn't make it into the media:
Little Susie Smith, a seven year-old girl in Brampton, Ontario, has her bicycle stolen.
A pink bicycle.
With little streamers on the handlebars.
And who just happened to be campaigning in Brampton that day?
Stephen Harper.
That's who.
We're not making this up.
Choose your Canada.

Stephen Harper drinks Merlot.
With a lamb entree.
In our cities.
In Canada.
- - -
Inability to write complete sentences.
Because of no Day Care Program.
Right here in this ad.
In Canada.
- - -
Just now at the Subway on Bank St. I was buying my lunch and there ... in line ...
standing in front of me ... was a soldier.
In our cities.
In Canada.
A soldier.
He seemed to be ordering the six-inch ham and turkey.
With chipotle sauce.
In Canada.
We're not making this stuff up.
- - -
Stephen Harper has a dog.
You know who else had a dog?
Adolph.
Yes, THAT Adolph.
That's who.
Did Stephen Harper train his dog to attack racial minorities on command?
We don't know.
He's not saying.
Choose your Canada.
- - -
Stephen Harper ate at a Tex-Mex place once.
You know what the "Tex" in Tex-Mex stands for?
Texas.
George W. Bush's home state.
And you know who else would have liked Tex-Mex food if he were alive today?
Ted Bundy
Yes, Ted Bundy.
We're not making this up.
Choose your Canada
- - -
President Kennedy is gunned down in Dallas, Texas.
George W. Bush's home state.
Where a lot of wealthy American right-wingers live.
Some say the fatal shots were fired from a grassy knoll.
Where was Stephen Harper that day?
He isn't saying.
Choose your Canada.

Did you see that Carville and Begala have a new book out on the "are you tired of losing? Here's how the Democrats can really win" theme? This is the x time they, one or the other or both, have written the same book. Nice trick.
It's done nothing to advance progressive politics (not sure its supposed to), but it sure reinforces the Carville-Begala-CNN brand and probably brings in a tidy sum. You basically have to spellcheck your manuscript and find and replace "2002" with "2004" and then "2006." Hold off on 2008 until the Spring 2007 catalogs, of course.
I like the last title: Stickin'. That's stickin' alright. You might even call it stuck.

Carvelle's facts are seldom disputed, but his manner of presenting them irks many. He's no shrinking violet.

There are a great number of smart and funny people in the world of politics, I wouldn't know who to pick out. But on either scale, Carville long ago slipped from any prominence he may have had. Let's see, he helped elect Zell Miller and Clinton in the 90s. That's his genius proven. And for funny, he put a trash can on his head in response to the 2002 debacle. Now he rates as a middling commentator and celebrity celebrity.

If I was Canadian I'd be hard pressed for which candidate to vote for. One wants to change Canada, wholesale, and the other wants to ban handguns. Both sound naive and impossible, like dumbass campaign rhetoric.

I'm not sure that either one wants to change Canada, wholesale.
As for the banning of handguns, illegal handguns have only been a problem in the last few years. Lately, there has been an influx of handguns, mostly sneaked across the border of your country into ours, being used by young criminals, such as the ones in the news recently in Toronto.
We have never been a gun-happy society. Although many of us have hunting firearms, including me, handguns have never been part of our culture, until now. We have never had the "right to bear arms" the way that your country has, even though that seems to be more of a vague interpretation of your constitution more than a free pass to arm yourselves. But, what do I know?

I can see controlling handguns, as a quality control issue, and keeping them out of the hands of criminals, kids and the incompetent.
re: bearing arms/constitution. I think the idea was to protect against an unjust government(which can be understood because of the unfair King at the time). Now it's being interpreted to mean all kinds of crap, IMHO.
