Hi, Michael--

You might be saving me an e-mail!

Also not appearing are the following images for three new features:

Among the editing icons: The icon for the new Attachments shortcut.

On the upper right: the icons for the SpellCheck download feature and the Switch Editing Mode feature.

Could you please post and acknowledge this post?

Thanks!

Thanks! I was just reporting that because you asked for reports on what was weird.

My avatar (and others) are appearing fine. However, there are several other larger issues I'm seeing and wonder if I'm alone. I just sent Michael an e-mail noting the following issues I've experienced since signing on about an hour ago. 1. I'm not getting paragraph separation/spacing even though I entered it in a Quick Reply 2. Even more annoying, I've selected to post using the option of WYSIWYG, but it's not working for me at the moment. In fact, I wasn't even able to use the italics, bold or underline features at all. I've always preferred WYSIWYG, and I know I'm not alone, so fixing this would seem to be a priority. I went to my User CP to make sure that it was still selected . . . and it was. The interface for Quick Reply and Reply to Thread look quite different from before. 3. No font choices are shown, nor font size. 4. Switch Editor Mode doesn't do anything, nor does Increase Size or Decrease Size. 5. Actually, now that I've experimented a bit more, *none* of the special features are working in the Reply section for me except for Post Icons. Yikes! I did the re-sizing manually, kids.

So, what hoops must I jump through for things to look/work normally for me? Do I need to erase all cookies? I've tried three different browsers, and had to Log In anew on each, and they all look the same.

This should be a separate paragraph, but will probably not show as such.

Ron--

I can't speak about Quick Reply because I never use it, but re all those other problems:

Those things are fine for me in IE6.

I might have a fix for you re getting back into WYSIWYG and seeing the WYSIWYG functions again. I'm going to try to contact you privately in a minute because it's too hard to explain here.

Rita, I can't even stay Logged In now.

I've tried Firefox, Opera and IE6 with the same appearance and results. Oops, now the Bold is suddenly working. Michael must be in the background.

Now WYSIWYG appears to be working.

If I can resolve the Log In issue, I'll be a happy camper!

Sorry that I morphed this thread from avatars to other issues, but I've been trying to regain some normalcy in my posting. Avatars are appearing fine.

Michael, are you still working on the board? If so, could that explain why some of us are having intermittent Log In issues?

When you log in do you check the "remember me" box?

Ron--

I'm replying here because if you can't log in, you can't read your PMs.

As of the time of this post, I can log in and out, and my login holds (I'm in IE6, as you know). How about you now?

What Scott said--are you checking "Remember me"?

It is simply impossible to get anything past you.

The reason I mention the "remember me" check is because that happened to me a couple of times today after the maintenance. When it happened the second time I started wondering WTF?!

Duh...........................

I've just experienced a brand new phenomenon re the WYSIWYG features. It's not so much a problem as a pain in the ass. Rather than describe it here, I'm going to e-mail Michael about it.

Cool

I really think this thing between you and Michael may be moving a little too quickly, Rita.

Just a thought.

Okay, Scott; I e-mailed Michael.

In IE6 and JC's full WYSIWYG option:

When I post a new reply, everything is normal; I see and can use all the WYSIWYG features. But when I edit a post of mine, I get only the features for modified editing, not full WYSIWYG. To get all the features again, I have to click on "Go Advanced" and wait for the editing page to reload.

That's brand new, within the last few minutes. It's not exactly a problem, but as I said, I find it a pain in the ass.

Ah..........

Actually, that's the way it works on the motorcycle site I frequent. So there's nothing abnormal there. Just another added "feature".

I do agree with you about it being somewhat a pain in the ass though. It's only true upside is that if you use the simple edit, it's much, much faster.

I don't get it. Much, much faster than what?

I guess it's kind of obvious that it's a "feature," but it wasn't a feature until a few minutes ago, long after the upgrade. I thought it might be an effort to correct some problem.

I'm feeling kind of guilty about having e-mailed Michael about it.

(Also?) on the upside, we can now specify a page in a thread and jump to it instead of having to scroll from page to page. That will be extremely handy for long threads.

What I mean when I say it's faster is that you don't have to wait for pages to load. Before, if you clicked on "edit" you were taken to a whole different page. But now, if you click "edit", bam, there it is. Then when you're done, bam, you're done.

Do you get what I'm saying here? Now, for me it's no big deal because I'm on the super speed highway. But for those on dial-up, I would think it would make a world of difference.

Maybe you could, but I couldn't! Now we have this:

Go to Page...

I never had it before! (If I did, I'm truly mentally deficient.)

No. That hasn't been my experience.

Never mind, though. I don't want to discuss this particular thing anymore.

Rita, it's not that I've been unable to Log In today, it's that I've been unable to remain Logged In.

Yes, I've checked the Remember Me box.

Somehow the Firefox feature which remembers User Names and Passwords (at user discretion) was altered after today's JC update, which I think may be at the root of my problem. I looked, and my password was gone from that area of Options in Tools. I don't know how to prompt a request for Firefox to be able to re-enter that information. Any Firefox users have an answer?
