Judging by his being in decent shape, I would guess that he not only eats sensibly, but probably gets off his butt and walks around, from time to time. I see him as a fruit and vegetable guy.
[Of course Chet may have a painting of himself, fat, wearing a scruffy jogging suit, rheumy-eyed and ill-groomed, in his attic, which would explain it all.]
