Bush nixes budget page showing deficit impact
Via The Raw Story:
http://rawstory.com/news/2005/Bush_2...pact_0207.html
The country is being bankrupted by W.'s effort to retain tax cuts for the wealthy. We can't keep spending money that we don't have... not to this degree.

AFAIK. Not sure what this has to do with the Bush admin deleting the standard page on deficit impact from the budget...

Well, shit..............
I'm just trying to make conversation. I figured since most of your wacky threads quickly disappear into the JC archive with zero replies I'd take this chance to help you out.
C'mon, brother. Let's find out more about each other.
What's your favorite kind of car?

Investing even more money on sophistocated weaponry is next to useless against an adversary who is prepared to be relentless, forever if necessary.

I like two kinds of cars, TG. My first love is the small, light, and agile sports car.
But, having a fam to tote around, they aren't very practical. So my new love is large, 4-door, V8 powered monsters like my Charger R/T.

Sigh. The phrases 'part-and-parcel' and 'modus-operandi' come immediately to mind. It's akin to not failing an exam by not taking it. Wishing it would go away makes it so.
Remember the 'Dover Test'? Administrations in the past could judge the people's commitment to a war-effort by the response of the general public to seeing metal caskets arriving at Dover Airforce Base. What did the Bush administration do? They banned press coverage at Dover.
That the Bush Administration would 'nix' the budget page showing deficit impact, is not surprising, and in fact, IS predictable given the administration's track record.
As my Lawyer once told me..... "it is, what it is! Love it, or hate it; at the very least, recognize it for what it is!"

Really? You have an interesting take on reality, pardner... are you saying the above story isn't true? I've noticed that you dismiss nearly all reports that reflect something negative towards the Bush admin as "whacky" or "loony," no matter what their source. Go ahead, rebuff 'em! Builds character... And most of my threads here seem to generate replies, but I ain't countin'. Still, thanks for the boost!

I'm not much of a car buff. But I do like the '66 Mustang I had as a teenager.

Yeah, but the ones that do usually never even reach double digit figures.
And there are several zero reply posts in your thread collection.
But let's keep this one alive just to show that, goddammitt, Tristano's Ghost means business!!!

Get the fuck outta here!! My mother had a powder blue '68 when I was a kid. Had the 289 in it. Very nice buggy. Always dug the rumble. She told me that when I was a baby, if nothing else would quiet me down, she'd take me for a ride in her car and I would go right to sleep. So I obviously had a taste for the V8 rumble from a very early age.
So, what do you think of the new Mustang GT? Personally, I think it looks like ass. But, it's still one of the faster cars on the road so it seems more a case of taking the good with the bad.
Also, what do you drive these days?

Alright, how about this.
If I see something that can back this story up, I'll be perfectly happy to address it.
But a story that appears only in a leftwing version of Newsmax really doesn't do it for me.
Fair enough?

hey daniel, you want to know why folk like you tend to be as clueless as you are? you're above statement perfectly illustrates it.
anyone who doesn't agree with your viewpoint is automatically a foxnews watcher. an o'reilly type. rush limbaugh fan, etc......
it's easier to make those bubbleheaded assumptions rather than pay any attention.
hooray!!!!

Hey, SD, just out of curiosity, I looked up the last half-dozen threads or so started by me in the Politics Forum:
Karl Rove, traitor=443 replies
Bush: I don't know Jack Abramoff=23 replies
Author of BUSH'S BRAIN put on no-fly list=60 replies
A 50-state party=18 replies
Death of an American hero=12 replies
What happened to the terror alerts?=35 replies
Barron's raises possibility of Bush impeachment=43 replies
Sigh... it's just too easy! Whatcha smokin' these days? I no longer partake, but it must be some good stuff, man!
Re: cars, I don't really follow 'em... I mean, it could be a Fred Flintstone mini-dinosaur under the engine hood, for all I care. My wife & I have a black 2002 Honda Civic, but she drives it more than me--my job's only a mile and a half or two from our house, so I usually bike to work. Good for the environment, and good for my rapidly-approaching-middle-age body. Good for the gas budget, too.
But I did really dig that Mustang. I inherited it from my mom when I was a teen starting to drive in the early 1980s--we'd rehabbed it in the late 1970s, but there were serious rust issues, and my first girlfriend still jokes about how there was a small hole in the floor on the passenger side.

Yeah, that's cool. I'm going to get a bike this year and ride also. My work is only 4 and a half minutes up the road from my house. The only bad part is that there are two really steep hills leaving my neighborhood. The first one being the second you leave my driveway. It'll be good for the legs though. A part of the body that I simply do not work out as much as I should(although a hell of a lot more than I used to since I have two stair cases in my house.
The rust thing is always an issue on those early American cars. My brother in law rebuilt a 1970 Nova from the unibody frame out. When it was done it was a sight to behold. He only had a small block 350 in it, so it wasn't particularly fast, but it did sound really sweet. But several years later he started having some serious rust issues with it. He's currently parting it out to others.
The hole in your floorboard story made me laugh out loud, though. We had a 1977 Camaro LT when Kelly and I first moved in together. Sweet car, had a vicious sounding rumble to it even though it could hardly get out of it's own way. It had a hole in the passenger side floorboard that was actually pretty significant. Every time it rained the whole damn floor would be wet from running through puddles. Also, the drivers side door latch on the outside was broken, so you'd have to open the passenger side door and reach over to open the driver side door.
Ah...............good times!
That's the kind of stuff that keeps one down to Earth.
