Announce Your Blog Here
I've just started mine, on food (mostly) & travel. No music. After years of people telling me I should write more formally about food & travel, I've gone half way with a form that will allow me to be haphazard and semi-informal.
I gave a sneak peek for a few days to a few folks at JC and some other friends before I was sure I'd be releasing it more widely.
petercherches.blogspot.com
If anybody else has a personal blog to announce, this is the place.

Really interesting blog, Pete. I also dug your music. I was barely able to resist solo-Polka-ing to Everything Reminds Me of You. And I agree about those almond thingies. Sublime.
Pete's Blog made me wanna blog. I often wanna blog. I don't know what stops me. Since this seems like the thread for it, I'm announcing my intent to blog. You can't be convicted based on a mere intent.

I've started one last year. After one post or 2, I left it there until right now. I had 2 french guys for 10 days at home. and I described what happened during their stay. It's in french though so I only shared it with my real world friends.
Going to read yours, Pete.

And I thought I was one of the priveleged few that got the heads up and now you're shouting it out to the whole world. Bastard! Anyway, "Word of Mouth" is already conveniently ensconced in my bookmarks since I'll be checking it out frequently. Good luck, Pete............

I am missing the point of the whole blog / myspace. What's IS the point? I have one, but only b/c people kept telling me to make one. I don't think I have even mentioned it to anyone.
Man...so many of us spend enough time on line as it is. I am really hesitating about entering a new realm which will have me in front of my pc all the more.

I'm fairly certain that Jesse has posted on JC re his blog:
http://wwwzero.blogspot.com/
(Weird URL, but it works, at least for me.)
I got as far as choosing a blogger name and a blog name, but my blog is empty. I found the software too intimidating (not to mention that I had nothing to say).

Nice blog so far, Pete. (Haven't looked at the others listed above yet.)
I've been thinking about starting one myself, lately. Do people have opinions on which service is best (and easiest for someone who isn't too interested in learning a lot of tech stuff, but just wants to get a site up and running)?
I can't believe how ubiquitous they're becoming. My latest saying is, opinions are like blogs--everybody's got one.

Aw, the hell with it. I've been thinking about starting a blog anyway, and this thread inspired me to get to it:

Your wife is (obviously) very talented, Jon. Kudos for beautiful photos and dishes.
I share both passions with her.

I suddenly feel somewhat less special... and rather hungry.
Thanks for the head's up. Duly bookmarked. I am awaiting your words on the rather odd NYC phenomenon of Chinese taquerias.
