Announcing the day long grand opening celebration for New York City's only jazz day club! Back on the Harlem street that hosts the ghosts of Florence Mills, Eubie Blake, Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller, Duke Ellington, Bill "Bojangles" Robinson, Sidney Bechet, Count Basie, and Mezz Mezzrow comes a jazz gathering place in the tradition of the old Rhythm Club and the legendary Tree of Hope.

The venue is divided into halves featuring jazz memorabilia in the front room and a cafe/art gallery/jam space in the back room known as EZ's Woodshed (named in memory of Edward Zalaznick).

With the stated mission of celebrating New York jazz past and present, Big Apple Jazz is growing the city's largest collection of indie cd's of the artists you are likely to see blowing away audiences all night long in the world capital of jazz. Here you will also find the legends represented in live recordings in such landmark clubs as the Village Vanguard, Five Spot, Small's Paradise, Count Basie's, and Minton's Playhouse. Rounding out the jazz offerings are books for all ages, framed concert posters, fine art, gift items and t-shirts.

Big Apple Jazz / EZ's Woodshed is the natural spawn of Gordon Polatnick, who has spent the last decade hosting www.bigapplejazz.com , New York's online jazz club authority; and leading private jazz tours to hidden jazz haunts throughout the city for visitors, corporations, school groups and musicians from around the globe.

Gordon, along with Mark Lomanno, Aarian Pope, Carl McCarden and Kay Mori welcome you to a special day of jazz. Peace.
