The Good News Is.....

According to Don Heckman in the LA Times, 81 year old Billy Taylor has recovered from his Jan 2002 stroke well enough to accept a Blue Note NYC gig. Billy was, and one hopes still is, a versatile pianist who mastered both the hard swinging Oscar Peterson style and the introspectiveness of the Bill Evans school.

Congratulations to one of the best and most deserving of jazzmen.

What a man! And what he has done for jazz is amazing. So glad to hear he's gotten this far with his CVA!

Thanks for the news.

Billy's week ended tonight. Regretfully, I didn't get there, but heard on the radio that it was "da bomb."
